Privacy Policy

Wavcut is an on-device video editor. We designed it to keep your footage on your phone by default. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Account information. When you create an account we store your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google. We use this to authenticate you and to operate your account.
• Your media. On the free tier, the videos, audio, and b-roll you import stay on your device and are never uploaded. On paid plans, media you choose to sync is stored in our cloud storage so it is available across your devices.
• Subscription status. If you purchase a subscription, Apple and our payments provider (RevenueCat) tell us which plan you are on. We do not receive your full payment card details.
• Basic usage and diagnostics. We may process limited technical information needed to run the service, such as account identifiers and storage usage.

How your video is processed

Core editing — silence cutting, b-roll placement, and on-device captions — runs locally on your device. On paid plans, when you use AI captions your audio may be sent to our transcription provider (Deepgram) solely to generate the transcript, and is not used to train their models. We do not analyze your video content for advertising.

How we use your data

• To provide and maintain the app and your account.
• To deliver paid features such as cloud sync and AI captions.
• To process subscriptions and prevent abuse.
• To respond to your support requests.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

Service providers

We share data only with providers that help us run Wavcut, under agreements that limit their use of it: cloud hosting and database providers, Cloudflare (media storage), Apple and RevenueCat (subscriptions), and Deepgram (transcription for paid captions).

Data retention and deletion

We keep your account data while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated cloud data at any time by emailing [email protected]. Media stored only on your device is removed when you delete it in the app or uninstall.

Children

Wavcut is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date on this page.
